Myanmar will experience cold weather till December 13 due to low pressure area in China, said meteorologist Chit Kyaw.

“The weather will be cold till December 13. Actually the cold weather would be affected in November but the low pressure area in China was not strong in that period. If the temperature is a little high, we may have rain,” said Chit Kyaw.

“The low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal may rise the temperature after December 15. Yangon, Ayeyawady, deltaic areas and lower areas of Myanmar may have a little rain,” he said.

According to the weather forecast made by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) for December 6, weather will be partly cloudy in Magway, Bago and Taninthayi regions and Shan and Rakhine states and generally fair in the remaining regions and states. Night time temperatures are decreasing from 3°C to 4°C of average normal temperature of December in Taninthayi Region, Shan (north) and Mon states, about 2°C lower than average normal temperature of December in upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Kayah states.

The recorded night time temperatures are 1°C in Hakha, 4°C each in Putao and Ramkalaung, 5°C each in Nantsan and Mongyan, 6°C each in Heho and Mindut and 7°C each in Machanbaw, Lashio, Tonzan, Minkin and Mogok, announced the DMH.

Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few clouds to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Weather will be partly cloudy in lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah states and generally fair in the remaining regions and states. Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi coasts, announced the DMH.

Night time temperatures will be decreased for next two days, announced the DMH.
