Myebon – Strong wind destroyed Yatchaung IDP camp in Myebon Township, Rakhine State on May 19 and the IDPs are facing difficulty to live, according to Mya Tasaung Monk, who is supervising the camp.
The IDPs stayed with temporary makeshift tents in the camp since December and they are from nearby villages of Yatchaung Village.
“Although we repaired the tents, we need covers for roofs. I don’t know how to live through the rainy season. There are over 400 IDPs living in the camp. We only have food which will last about one week to feed them. WFP provided rice and ICRC gave rice and edible oil previously but now they hadn’t provided them for about two months. All tents were destroyed by the strong wind,” said the monk.
