THE Myanmar U-22 national football
team suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat in a
friendly match against the Qatar U-23
team at the Aspire Football field in Dohar,
Qatar, on Thursday night.
Both teams showed a strong defence for most of the match.
Qatar’s Hassan scored an early goal at the 15th minute. In spite of speedy play in the beginning, Myanmar strikers failed to penetrate Qatar’s defence.
In the second half, Myanmar switched to power play with neat and tidy tackling, but Qatar managed to prevail with aggressive play.
The match intensified in the later minutes with team Myanmar dominating again. But their efforts were blunted due to uncertainty of young attackers, who failed to score a goal till the final whistle.
Myanmar’s line-up for the match included key young players — goal keeper Bhone Thitsar Min, Win Moe Kyaw, Myat Kaung Khant, Lwin Moe Aung, Soe Lwin Lwin, Hein Htet Aung, and Win Naing Tun.
