AUNG LA N SANG, One Championship’s
light-heavyweight world champion,
will defend his title against
newcomer Ken Hasegawa of Japan
in the evening’s main event
of ONE: Spirit of a Warrior on
29 June at Thuwunna Indoor
Stadium. Aung La informed the
media on 30 May that he is ready
to defend his title and bring glory
to Myanmar once again with
“Ken Hasegawa is one of the best martial artists in his category in the history of Japan. He is incredibly strong and possesses great stamina and endurance.
He cannot be underestimated, so I am fully focused and putting in every effort in preparing for this bout”, Aung La N Sang said.
“I have studied his strengths and weakness, which I can use to my advantage. My team and I have come up with a sound game plan to capitalize on his unique style. I feel no pressure. I’m just excited to get in there and defend my title. This is going to be a huge bout and I am training for it like it’s the most important of my career. I would encourage my opponent to train equally as hard, so we can put on a good show”.
The match is much anticipated because the two competitors are closely match, as Ken Hasegawa is the current DEEP Megaton Champion.
Hasegawa won the vacant title by participating in a tournament where he first defeated Peter Tornow and advanced to the finals, where he bested Seigo Mizuguchi.
