Myanmar football star Aung
Thu, a striker for Yadanabon FC,
will likely to transfer to Thailand’s
Premier League team
Police Tero, according to the
websites of the Myanmar Football
Federation and Police Tero.
The transfer will be a good opportunity for Aung Thu, said Myanmar national football team Head Coach Gerd Zeise.
“This is a good consequence for not only Aung Thu, but for the Myanmar national team.
The Thai leagues are very good in tactics and strategies and stress powerful playing.
After about two years of playing in this league, Aung Thu will become a brilliant player, with better skills and stamina.
He then will give more benefit to the Myanmar national team. There will be a barrier for his progression if he will continue to play here.
I would like to say congratulations to him for his transfer,” Mr. Gerd Zeise told the MFF.
There was an agreement between Yadnabon FC and Police Tero for the transfer, according to the official announcement of Police Tero, though the final decision is in the hands of Aung Thu.
Police Tero FC, formerly known as BEC-Tero Sasana Football Club, is a Thai professional football club based in Bangkok.
The club finished as runners-up in the inaugural AFC Champions League competition in 2003.
The club merged with Police United in season 2017 and changed their name to Police Tero Football Club starting in the 2018 season due to AFC Club licencing policy.-KyawZin Lin
