Dragon Boat Federation
World Nations Championship
being held in Kunming,
Host country China attained second place and a silver medal with a time of 10 minutes and 17 seconds. Canada came in third with a time of 10 minutes and 17 seconds. The win for Myanmar was historic because they defeated well-regarded, world-class teams from China, Canada, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, India, Singapore and Thailand in the competition.
The International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) hosts the IDBF World Championships once every two years in odd-numbered years such as 2015 and 2017. The championships are held in different locations around the world, where participants represent their country as a member nation.
The previous championship was held in 2015 in Canada. This year’s event in Kunming, China is being held from from 18 to 22 October.
