Over 200 Myanmar migrant workers left their weeds processing factory in Ayuddhaya Province, Thailand in protest on June 19 after they were not given their full wages.
Out of over 200 workers, 16 workers were sacked on June 19 in the evening.
One of the sacked workers, Ye Soe Aung, said, “They fired me after they accused me of leading the strike. I couldn’t even talk with them.”
The workers have asked for assistance from AAC (temporarily disbanded at present) which provided assistance to Myanmar migrant workers.
Ye Min from AAC said, “They came here after signing a contract with the companies but these people are still facing difficulties on the ground.”
Some of the sacked workers signed the contracts before coming to Thailand.
